SACOFA Reaffirms Commitment to Future-Ready Digital Infrastructure

SACOFA represented by our Acting Chief Corporate Officer, Azmil Othman Merican, attended the Closing Ceremony of the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement Training last Friday, officiated by YB Datuk Sri Haji Julaihi bin Haji Narawi, Minister of Utility and Telecommunication and Chairman of SACOFA.

The session underscored Sarawak’s continued efforts to strengthen and regulate its telecommunications infrastructure, including strategic tower site planning, regularisation of legacy towers and ensuring sustainable connectivity across urban, suburban and rural areas.

In line with these efforts, SACOFA remains committed to advancing its Network Modernisation Project, which commenced in Q4 last year and is progressing on schedule. By leveraging full-band Optical Transport Network (OTN) technology, the project will significantly enhance network capacity, stability and performance, supporting future-ready services such as 5G, cloud and AI.

This commitment reflects SACOFA’s ongoing support for the State Government’s vision for a strong, future-proof digital infrastructure for Sarawak.
